Near the Les Verguettes camp-site, is Mont Ventoux- the Giant of the Provence, classified by UNESCO as a “Biosphere Reserve”, which towers to 1,912m and has exceptional views over the Alps, the Mediterranean, the Camargue, the lower Rhône valley, the Cevennes and the Massif Central.

There are several routes to the top, including that taken by the Tour de France. There are also an Alpine and Nordic ski resort, horse riding possibilities, mountain and trail biking, wheelie slides, a centre to learn about astronomy and hotel with a restaurant.
